Fiat is revolutionizing the electric vehicle (EV) charging experience with a groundbreaking service called “Simplifying the New 500,” which is accessible to owners of both the Fiat New 500 and Abarth New 500e models.

This innovative on-demand mobile fast charging service aims to make charging your EV as simple as a few taps on your smartphone.

The service is available in Italy, France, Spain, and Germany, and across 13 major cities including Rome, Milan, Turin, Bolonia, Brescia, Verona, Trento, Paris, Lyon, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, and Berlin, with plans to expand to 15 European cities by the end of 2023.

The process is straightforward: customers reserve the service through an app, and a mobile charging van with the necessary infrastructure arrives at the vehicle’s location for a quick charge.

The new offering, provided by E-GAP, is designed to provide fast and convenient charging that comes directly to your vehicle, wherever it’s parked.

E-GAP ensures that the power used is 100% renewable. This means that not only is the charging process convenient, but it’s also environmentally friendly.

The E-GAP app seamlessly connects to the FIAT app through an account linking function.

Once registered, customers simply input their vehicle details and authorize E-GAP to locate and operate the vehicle autonomously.

Customers can choose their charging location, schedule the charging timeframe, and select their desired charge level. Payment is also completed through the app.

The customer is then notified that a charging session has been scheduled directly in the FIAT app, where they must authorize E-GAP to access the vehicle during the selected timeframe.

The E-GAP van arrives within 90 minutes of the customer’s request, and the charging process takes place without having to move the vehicle from its parking spot.

E-GAP operates the service autonomously, providing peace of mind to the customer, who receives notifications through the FIAT app to monitor the service’s progress and ensure the safety of their vehicle.

To celebrate the launch, Fiat has introduced an exclusive promotion for its customers, offering on-demand fast charging at the standard public charging rate, priced at €0.50 per kWh.

This special offer is already available in Italy, with plans to extend it to Germany and Spain in the near future.
