A 2018 Jaguar I-Pace, initially supplied to then Prince Charles for his personal use, is up for auction with an estimated price range of 55,000 pounds to 70,000 pounds.
Heading for Historics’ auction at Ascot Racecourse on 2 March, Historics’ Matthew Priddy states, “We are thrilled to bring this royal icon to auction. It’s an unrepeatable piece of electric motoring history.”
“With the Jaguar I-Pace being discontinued ahead of Jaguar’s re-launch in 2025, this will surely remain the most significant example, which will be reflected in its increasing value,” he adds.
This unit was acquired by King Charles III in April 2018, being the first electric car supplied to the Royal Family.
Delivered directly from Jaguar UK for personal use, the car was Eiger Grey according to reports.
However, His Majesty insisted the car should be in his favorite color, Loire Blue.
Therefore, it was returned to Jaguar for modifications and remains the only I-Pace produced in this color.
During its time with the Royal Household, not only did Charles drive the car, but also the Queen and other members of the royal family such as Meghan Markle were photographed driving the I-Pace.
Jaguar’s rapid charger was installed at their official residence in London, Clarence House.
It remained in Royal ownership until December 2021 when it was returned to Jaguar with just under 3000 miles on the clock.
