Jeroen van Tilburg will take over the role as Chief Executive Officer of IONITY, effective May 13th , 2024.

He succeeds Michael Hajesch, who will pursue other ventures outside the company.

“We would like to thank Hajesch for his great contribution and dedication for the company. He navigated the firm through different important phases which have made IONITY what it is today: one of Europe’s largest independent High Power Charging networks,” says Jörg Hofmeister, current chairperson of the IONITY Shareholder Committee.
“This includes the build-up of the IONITY team of now more than 200 people, the definition of the future strategy, the development of new products and the establishment of a strong shareholder structure,” he adds.
In his previous role as Head of Charging at Tesla in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), van Tilburg successfully led the growth, development, and transformation of the Tesla Supercharger network.
His multifaceted experience includes other pivotal roles at global tech giants such as Microsoft, Google, and Netflix.
With his proven track record of orchestrating strategic initiatives, he is well-positioned to propel IONITY into its next phase of growth and success.
“Jeroen van Tilburg has an impressive track record in setting up and boosting growth of charging networks”, indicates Hofmeister.
“In addition, he is an expert on the European charging market who brings a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges which IONITY is facing on its growth path,” he adds.
In addition to CEO Jeroen van Tilburg, IONITY’s leadership team will consist of the Managing Directors Marcus Groll (COO) and Torsten Kiedel (CFO).
The new leadership team’s focus is to further boost the expansion of the company.
To date, the firm is active in 24 countries across Europe and operates more than 3,600 charging points on over 600 sites.
With its geographical scope across Europe, the company aims to make a significant contribution to ramping up e-mobility – by providing a powerful and reliable charging network.
