The long-standing partnership with Lausanne has proven to be extremely successful in the past.
Since the mid-1970s, buses with HESS bodies have been an integral part of Lausanne’s cityscape.
The more than 100 trolleybuses currently in use by HESS in the city on Lake Geneva make an important contribution to sustainable, more efficient mobility in Lausanne.
The lighTram sets new standards in terms of comfort and environmental friendliness.
Thanks to its 100% electric drive, it not only ensures emission-free travel, but also barrier-free access, which is particularly beneficial for walkers, children and people with reduced mobility.
One example of this is the 12 lighTram 25 DC vehicles , which have been successfully in use on line 9 in Lausanne for around four years.
This line, which runs from Lutry to Prilly, is used by more than six million passengers every year and benefits from the increased capacity and efficiency of these innovative vehicles.
With the new order for a total of 51 electric buses, Transports publics de la région lausannoise is further expanding its fleet and focusing on sustainable and efficient mobility solutions.
HESS is proud to be part of this development and to continue to make a contribution to promoting local public transport in Lausanne.
