Coca-Cola announced in 2021 that it would convert all cars and vans in its own fleet in Germany to electric vehicles by the end of their respective leases in 2025, in order to reduce CO2 emissions and contribute to being climate-neutral along the entire value chain by 2040.

Of the current total of 1,786 cars and vans, CCEP Germany has already converted 762 vehicles to electric drive – that’s around 43 percent.

Cars from the Hyundai brand, specifically the Hyundai KONA Electric model, make up a large proportion of the fleet’s electric vehicles.

They are used as service vehicles, among others by sales consultants or major customer advisors.

Both companies have been working together since 2021.

Meanwhile, a new generation of the Hyundai KONA is on the market, and of course, there are also technical developments with the KONA Electric that make the vehicle even more interesting for fleet use.

“The motors and battery packs have become more powerful, and the range has increased noticeably – while energy consumption has hardly changed,” states Tobias Krumnikl, Head of Commercial Customer and Used Car Strategy at Hyundai Motor Germany

“In recent years, it has been particularly challenging to further advance our switch to electric vehicles, partly due to Corona. We are therefore particularly pleased to reach an important milestone in the electrification of our car and van fleet with the handover of the 500th Hyundai KONA Electric,” states Ksenija Leverenz, Director Logistics & Customer Service at CCEP DE.

This year, we plan to take another big step and exchange a particularly large number of vehicles. This is how we aim to convert all cars and vans to electric drive by 2025,” he adds.
