After two years of supporting the event, Kempower announces an official partnership with the Arctic Race of Norway, an annual cycling race organized in Norway.
In this way, the company will provide 18 Mobile Chargers that will power the 129 electric service cars for the staff and athletes.
The vehicles, which will be from the car manufacturer Xpeng, will support the cyclists and the race organizers during the event.
This year, the tenth edition will take place in northern Norway from August 17th to 20th.
The partnership enables closer collaboration towards an emission-free event and empowers a positive impact on the territories of northern Norway.
Regarding this, Knut-Eirik Dybdal, Director Nordic and Managing Director of the Arctic Race of Norway, said:
“Kempower has been a reliable charging provider for the two previous editions of the Arctic Race of Norway. We appreciate the commitment the Kempower team has shown, enabling temporary charging infrastructure, and a smooth race for our participants and staff.”
He added: “Offering Kempower an official partner status at this year’s event seemed like the next natural step.”
It’s worth mentioning that the Arctic Race of Norway tests the endurance of the world’s best cyclists.
Organized by Arctic Sport and Amaury Sport Organization, the same entity that hosts top international sporting events, including the Tour de France, the race strongly emphasizes sustainability, as it is one of the first cycling races to primarily use electric vehicles when organizing the event.
On her part, Paula Savonen, Vice President of Communications at Kempower, said:
“We are extremely happy to partner with the Arctic Race of Norway. After two years of supporting the event with chargers, this is a natural step to enhance our collaboration towards an emission-free event.”
She added: “With our Kempower Mobile Chargers, we can prove that reducing emissions from such events is possible, even in the mountainous terrain of northern Norway. We hope to expand our collaboration with Arctic Sport and the Arctic Race of Norway in the future as well.”
