Ebusco and Multiobus are set to sign a contract for 20 new Ebusco 2.2 buses at Busworld in Brussels, the world’s largest bus exhibition.

This exhibition holds special significance as Belgium will soon become the home country of these 20 ordered units.

The 20 Ebusco 2.2 buses will be equipped with a battery pack of over 400 kWh, feature a low-floor configuration, and will join Multiobus’s existing fleet, which already includes several Ebusco models.

In total, the 36 Ebusco units will be operated by Multiobus but will run under the name of De Lijn, Belgium’s largest public transport authority.

Together, these buses will form the transportation link for Tienen, Belgium.

Brad van de Kerkhof, Ebusco’s Account Manager Benelux, says: “We are immensely proud of our cooperation with Multiobus and grateful for their trust and friendship over the past years.”

“We greatly admire Multiobus because they boldly took the initiative in transitioning to emissions-free transportation, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration,” he adds.

Ebusco and Multiobus: A History of Collaborative Orders

In 2017, Multiobus took a significant step by becoming one of Ebusco’s first customers, acquiring an initial fleet of four Ebusco 2.1 buses.

Their commitment to emissions-free transportation became evident in 2020 when they placed an additional order for ten Ebusco 2.2 buses.

After the introduction of the Ebusco 3.0, Multiobus recognized the potential of this lightweight innovation and placed an order for two Ebusco 3.0 buses, which are currently in production.

Now, with specific configuration requirements and the proven concept of the Ebusco 2.2, Ebusco and Multiobus are once again collaborating to provide sustainable and affordable transportation.

Given that the Ebusco 2.2 has proven to be highly competitive in terms of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Multiobus ensures an environmentally friendly and cost-effective option.

Olivier Van Mullem, CEO of Multiobus, comments: “We have a longstanding partnership with Ebusco, and their unwavering dedication continues to impress us. Our belief in the future of electric mobility has been steadfast, and, like Ebusco, we have faced skepticism for our commitment to this vision.”

“Now, six years since our initial collaboration with Ebusco, we more firmly support our shared philosophy, hence this new order and expansion of the partnership,” he adds.
