Approval granted for 6 new projects under PERTE VEC II, totaling €21.5 million

The projects under PERTE VEC II involve companies such as Renault, Gestamp Palau, Global Laser Araba, Beecycle Reuse & Recycling, and Gestamp Levante.

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism has announced a new round of support for electric vehicle battery production projects under PERTE VEC II.

Provisional approval has been granted for six new proposals, amounting to €21.5 million.

As detailed by the Ministry in a statement, the projects involve companies such as Renault, Gestamp Palau, Global Laser Araba, Beecycle Reuse & Recycling, and Gestamp Levante.

Renault will receive funding for two investment projects for the assembly of batteries for 100% electric vehicles at its plants in Palencia and Valladolid, totaling €3.4 million.

Gestamp Palau will receive €7.5 million for the assembly and passivation of the Battery Box Lower Cover in Catalonia.

Meanwhile, Gestamp Levante will also receive funding, amounting to €5 million, for the assembly of the Battery Box in Valencia.

Global Laser Araba will obtain €4 million for a Battery Box assembly project in the Basque Country.

Lastly, Beecycle Reuse & Recycling will secure funding for an electric vehicle battery recycling plant in Navarra, totaling €1.6 million.

With the publication of these provisional approvals, the Ministry of Industry has now granted €73.9 million in subsidies to eight companies in the sector under Section 1 of PERTE VEC II.

Héctor Gómez, the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, emphasized that a “good pace” is being maintained in managing and processing these applications.

“From this Ministry, we will expedite the process as much as possible to make the grants available as soon as possible. This is what the sector has requested, and it is our goal”, he asserted.
