“Test drives of the latest electric vehicle models, exhibitions, workshops for all audiences, sustainability experiments, giveaways, contests, and lots of fun.

This is the diverse menu of free activities that the second edition of MOVEO, the Sustainable Mobility Showcase of Oviedo, organized by the Association of Electric Vehicle Users (AUVE) in collaboration with the Oviedo City Council, is offering.

From September 15th to 17th, and under the umbrella of European Mobility Week, the Oviedo Congress and Exhibition Center and its surrounding streets will be filled with sustainability and electric mobility.

“We want to bring new forms of mobility to everyone; we encourage Asturians to test drive more than 20 electric cars that will be available and visit the booths of some of the most committed companies to sustainable mobility,” says Ángel García, president of AUVE.

MOVEO is an event for the whole family; we will have giveaways, contests, a giant Scalextric, workshops, and many more surprises,” he adds.

Buzz, the Skoda Enyaq Coupé, the Smart #1, and several electric models from Mini and BMW.

Additionally, several electric trucks and vans from Alimerka and Masymas, two Asturian companies committed to sustainable mobility, will also be on display in the outdoor area.

Fun and education for the whole family

MOVEO attendees can enjoy a giant Scalextric that will delight speed enthusiasts and allow them to experience the excitement of racing while learning about the importance of energy efficiency.

Furthermore, from Friday to Sunday, several free workshops will be held to raise awareness about new, more sustainable forms of mobility, the renewable energy revolution, and others that promote scientific and technological vocations among the youngest.

All of this will be complemented by experiments, driving simulators, informative shows, contests, giveaways, and the creation of two collaborative murals related to sustainable mobility, renewable energy, the environment, and the role of people in the cities of the future.

Another highlight of the II Sustainable Mobility Showcase of Oviedo is the dozens of booths from companies and organizations such as Iberdrola, Bosquia, Adarsa, TotalEnergies, FAEN, Autosa, Tesla, Conecta Industria, SotySolar, Efibat, Oviedo City Council, Metalux, Eranovum, Tartiere Auto, and Polestar, among others, which will showcase their services and products related to sustainable mobility, renewable energies, and the environment to all attendees.

Montse Lavilla, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer of SotySolar, emphasizes the importance of having events like this in the region:

“As an Asturian company, we are committed to promoting events of this caliber that can drive the renewable energy industry in our community, encouraging more users to adopt clean and environmentally friendly energy sources, even in their travels.”

Preceding Professional Congress

Under the theme “Economy and Sustainability: the challenge of electrifying the future,” and spanning over 10 hours, the Oviedo Congress and Exhibition Center will host this congress on September 14th. The event will analyze business models and opportunities related to the electrification of the economy, the role of innovation in sustainable mobility, the social and tourist impact of this sector, and the challenges associated with infrastructure, among other topics of discussion.

“Electric mobility is already a present reality and will be the future. We have a unique opportunity to move with locally sourced renewable energy, without CO2 emissions, with greater efficiency, no particle or harmful gas emissions, improving the air quality in cities and people’s health,” explains Javier Izquierdo, technical director of AEDIVE.

Ángel García, president of AUVE, states that “MOVEO will turn Oviedo into a hub for education, networking, and knowledge related to electric mobility. We will bring together 300 professionals from entities such as Alimerka, BBVA, Eranovum, FAEN, Tesla, Efibat, TotalEnergies, Bosquia, CEPSA, Polestar, Tartiere Auto, Masymas… We will address economic, innovative, social, and environmental aspects for the future of electromobility.”
